Create Telegram Channels - The Better Newsletter

Messenger services allow us to be closer to the prospect/customer than ever. Whether it's Facebook, WhatsApp, or Telegram, the user gets our messages in their private inbox with all variants. On the one hand, this is great for operators, as it means the messages don't just go down the drain, but it also carries the risk of annoying its target audience. An annoyed prospective customer does not come back as a rule so fast... How can this be avoided? What is the best way to proceed?

Please always follow the guiding principle: as much as necessary, as little as possible.

If you get eight messages a day in one channel, every day, you would probably leave the channel again in a short time. Have you ever received a message at two in the morning? Did it annoy you? Newsletters that were purely promotional events? Or even inappropriate content?

Here is my first article on Telegram channels: Telegram Channels: The easiest and most effective newsletter!

Not another newsletter

I think everyone has experienced this at some point and had no desire for more content afterward. Please keep these points in mind for your channel as well. Relevance is particularly important for high open rates (especially with messenger services). Every message you share with your community must represent added value. The prospect must notice with you that you are not the next spammer or time thief, but every message from you moves him forward. If this requires splitting the topic into three messages, but they all add value, that's okay. But please always consider how important or relevant is this really now? Please avoid "unnecessary" messages.

Unfortunately, what costs many Telegram channels growth is that they often stray from the core topic. When Telegram user joins a sales channel, they expect valuable and relevant content about sales, please don't start with politics or nutrition. That may be exciting and important for you, but that's not what your subscriber is in your channel for. If the user is additionally looking for a healthy diet, he will find a good channel and experts for that. Please stick to your topic and expertise.

It depends on the content.

Have you ever been on a newsletter or channel and found the information interesting but still got bored?

Sticking to your core topic and providing valuable and relevant content about it several times a week isn't quite enough. We still need to give your channel a recognition value. What style or even "branding" do you use? Find a sample template to build your messages around. Do you prefer to appear in voice messages or videos? Do you often require source citations or YouTube references? How are your headlines (headings) structured, and what style is used? These are all questions of recurring elements that will give you recognition and also save you tremendous time.

Tip: If possible, make sure that your message is readable without having to scroll the channel. Ideally, your subscriber will have your message at a glance.

Stand out and be visible.

Also, an eye-catching channel image or a unique channel name will make your channel stand out more when the user scrolls through their messages. If individual words are capitalized, or a matching emoji is included, the messages will stand out even more. Also, pay attention to the first lines or headline of your message. This is what the Telegram user sees first before clicking on your message. This should create interest to open the message!

To attract new qualified prospects, I advise you to create "shareable content." What are the hot topics in your industry right now? Are there niches you can interview other experts about? Prepare them in a non-promotional or neutral way and add the link to join your channel to your message. This way, your messages have a high chance of being shared on other channels. Read my article "Telegram channels: The easiest and most effective newsletter."

Tip: Use Telegram polls from time to time. Polls like to be shared and are often exciting for prospects to match their views.

Conclusion

If you regularly offer your subscribers relevant content without spam in an interesting package, you can build an extensive list on Telegram with little effort. While doing so, please also keep in mind to create "shareable content" and stay true to your theme. This will create a community you can draw on in your projects and classify your content as relevant.
